It took about one year from the design to make it into reality, Now I am officially introducing this new work-OTAKID
The name of OTAKID is originated from my artist name“zhaizai”in Chinese which means the kid of OTAKU literally， so I combined Otaku and kid into“OTAKID”This character was inspired by the Otaku Culture of Japan.
Otaku is a Japanese term for people with obsessive interests,particularly in comics and animation. Together with video games ACG culture was part of my childhood and deeply rooted in my memory. That's why I created OTAKID to express my understanding of Otaku and also the sense of nostalgia.
Although the case of Tsutomu Miyazaki, "The Otaku Murderer", brought the fandom, very negatively, the term has become less negative, and an increasing number of people now self-identify as otaku, both in Japan and elsewhere,ccording to studies published in 2013.
The very first colorway of OTAKID-The Electric State- is releasing now together with his companion GameBoy cat and his PC Helmet and only limited 50 sets
